Imbasa Safari Lodge, located 45 minutes drive south-west of Kimberley in the Northern Cape, today offers some of the best and most varied plains game hunting in South Africa. Husband and wife team, Richard and Hannah Bjorklund, have created a truly superb hunting lodge wiich can take up to 16 guests at any one time. The camp has 5,000 adjacent acres, and an additional 70,000 acres 20 minutes drive away. The plains game available include gemsbok, kudu, eland, impala, waterbuck, blesbok, springbok, black and blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, mountain reedbuck, duiker, steenbok, zebra and warthogs. There are also black-backed jackals, caracals (lynx) and a multitude of fascinating bird life.
The country is on the edge of the Kalahari and, whilst flat and covered in camel thorn, stone kopjes (hills) also feature. The climate is typical savannah, with temperatures ranging around 30C to 35C in the summer (northern winter), while winter days, June to August (our summer) are warm but with cold nights. Recommended hunting period is from March to October The region is disease-free and there is no malaria.
The camp and lodge is managed by professional hunter (PH) Warren Venter, while his wife Kate deals with the administration. Vehicles, camp staff and additional PHs are all top quality, whilst the service, food and drink are outstanding. This is a top quality safari camp and the steady return of satisfied clients, year after year, is testimony to its success.
We have, in addition to the excellent hunting at Imbasa, concessions over 45,000 acres in the Eastern Cape where clients can hunt nyala, kudu, bushbuck, warthog, red lechwe, vaal rhebuck, blue duiker, caracal, mountain reedbuck and bontebok.
